On September 9, 2024, an assault group of Russian troops, consisting of three tanks and six combat vehicles of the 51st Airborne Regiment of the 106th Division, successfully broke through the checkpoints of the Ukrainian Armed Forces in the Kursk region. The column moved out of the settlement of Kornevo in the direction of Snagost and, having broken through the enemy's defenses, consolidated its position in this area. Despite the fact that Snagost has already been liberated from the Ukrainian Armed Forces, footage of the battles has only just appeared.

Upon arrival in Snagost, the Russian column split into three groups, each of which took up positions blocking the Ukrainian troops' retreat routes. The assault group held a perimeter defense for three days, awaiting the arrival of the main units of the Russian Armed Forces. Thanks to coordinated actions, the advance and holding of positions were carried out without losses among the Russian troops.
