The blockade of a key highway leading to Russia, organized by protesters, continues in Abkhazia. The participants of the action set a condition for lifting the blockade: the release of six activists detained and held in a temporary detention facility. The protesters insist on the immediate release of their comrades and are ready to extend the blockade until their demands are met.
The organizers of the action explained that they are ready to provide assistance in emergency situations, letting ambulances pass, and also helping pedestrians carry their luggage. At the moment, the protesters have also organized transfer routes for those wishing to get to Sochi or Sukhum, to facilitate the movement of those who found themselves in a difficult situation due to the road closure.
The situation with the blockade remains tense. It is reported that the protesters do not intend to stop their actions until their goals are achieved.
