The launch of the heavy Sarmat ICBM will be performed within the next 90 days

The Russian heavy ICBM Sarmat will be launched within the next three months.

Developers of the Russian heavy intercontinental ballistic missile "Sarmat", which is equipped with hypersonic warheads, will undergo flight tests over the next three months. It is reported that this is only the first flight tests, which will verify the declared technical characteristics of Russian weapons.

“The first flight tests will take place this year. III quarter is planned ", - said the general director of "Krasnoyarsk machine-building plant" Alexander Gavrilov.

The launch will be carried out on a target at the Kura test site, located on the Kamchatka Peninsula, however, the current tests will not be the last for this missile - they will continue next year.

The newest Russian heavy ICBM "Sarmat" in the West is called "Satan-2" for its extremely destructive power - according to official figures, the missile can deliver up to 5 nuclear warheads or 10 conventional warheads of high power to its targets. The key feature of the Sarmat is the fact that the warheads are capable of developing hypersonic speed and bypassing missile defense systems - according to various estimates, it will take NATO at least 10-15 years to develop weapons capable of fighting Russian weapons.
