Russian President Vladimir Putin, during a meeting with Syrian leader Bashar al-Assad, announced that Russian and Syrian troops are ready to begin large-scale cleansing of Syrian territory from all illegal armed groups and terrorists present in the Arab republic.

According to the Russian president, at the moment the situation is seriously complicated by the illegal presence of foreign forces in Syria.

"The main problem, in my opinion, is that, after all, foreign armed forces are present in certain territories of the country without a decision of the United Nations, without your sanctions, which clearly contradicts international law and does not give you the opportunity to make maximum efforts to consolidate the country. and in order to move along the path of its restoration at such a pace that would be possible if the entire territory was controlled by a legitimate government ", - said the Russian leader.
