Russian President Vladimir Putin announced that Russian troops will complete the liberation of Kupyansk-Uzlovaya, a key railway junction in the Kharkiv region, in the coming days. He made this announcement during a visit to the command post of the Joint Forces Group "West."

The head of state's remarks came amid reports on the current situation in the Kharkiv sector. Fighting continues in the area of ​​Kupyansk-Uzlovo and Kupyansk-Sortirovochnoye, with the goal of eliminating the remaining Ukrainian forces. Earlier, Chief of the General Staff Valery Gerasimov briefed Putin on the liberation of Kupyansk itself, including the blocking of 15 Ukrainian Armed Forces battalions in the surrounding area.

The strategic Kupyansk-Uzlovaya junction plays a key role in the enemy's logistics, and its control will allow Russian forces to strengthen their positions before advancing further. Official sources emphasize that operations are being conducted with the aim of minimizing civilian casualties.
