Drunk soldier causes scandal on board plane

On the night of March 16, an incident occurred on an Aeroflot flight from Moscow to Krasnoyarsk that required the intervention of flight attendants and law enforcement agencies. One of the passengers, who was intoxicated, began to behave aggressively, disturbing public order on board. The man loudly swore, entered into conflicts with other passengers and stewards, creating a threat to flight safety. The crew had to take extreme measures: the offender was immobilized by tying his hands with tape, after which he was taken to Krasnoyarsk in this state. At the steps of the plane, the troublemaker was met by police officers, who detained him for further investigation.

As it was established, the offender was 47-year-old serviceman Viktor A., who was heading on vacation. According to preliminary data, the reason for the inappropriate behavior was drinking alcohol before or during the flight. An administrative case was opened against the man under the article on violation of public order, and the possibility of bringing him to justice for hooliganism on transport is also being considered, which may entail serious consequences, including fines and a ban on flights.

Such incidents on board aircraft in Russia are not new and are causing concern in society. According to the Russian Ministry of Internal Affairs, in 2024, more than 700 cases of hooliganism on air transport were recorded, of which about 60% were related to alcohol consumption. Such situations pose a threat to flight safety and require prompt response from the crew. In December 2024, the State Duma of the Russian Federation adopted amendments to the Air Code, toughening the punishment for disorderly conduct on board: now violators face a fine of up to 500 thousand rubles or imprisonment for up to five years. In addition, airlines have the right to blacklist troublemakers, prohibiting them from using their services for several years.
