Russian Railways emergency crews quickly arrived at the scene, restored the track and removed the cars by Saturday morning. The Murmansk Transport Prosecutor's Office has initiated a preliminary investigation to determine the cause of the accident, ranging from possible technical malfunctions of the rolling stock to errors in maneuvering. The investigation's results are expected in the coming days, which will help prevent similar incidents on key arteries of the October Railway.
