Fifth Russian centurion

19 February 2014. Lieutenant Colonel Igor Tsukur has become a new centurion of Russian aviation. This title is awarded to pilots who commit at least one hundred fighter jets on the deck of an aircraft carrier. Remind that at the moment Russian fighters are serving in the sky of Syria. There the watch is carried by domestic Su-33.

Taking off and landing from an aircraft carrier is quite difficult and requires special attention and pilot training. For example, in order to land a fighter on the deck of a ship, it is necessary to make several stained glass windows. 1. The pilot makes the first circle, while he flies just a few meters from the deck of the ship. 2. On the second lap, touch the rear landing gear to the deck. And only after the third lap, the plane lands on the deck of the ship.

It is worth recalling that our fighters carry military service in the airspace of Syria. And they protect all vessels that deliver all kinds of provisions and humanitarian aid to this state.

Thus, at the moment there are already five centurions in Russian aviation. That is, people who have made at least one hundred landings on the deck of an aircraft carrier.
