The Zircon missile will enter service with Russia in less than a year

The Russian Zircon hypersonic missile will enter service with the army early next year.

A source in the country's military-industrial complex announced that the newest domestic hypersonic missile Zircon will be adopted by the Russian army early next year. This year, the rocket has to undergo six more tests - two missiles are planned to be launched from the frigate "Admiral Gorshkov", while the tests, obviously, will be associated with the launch of missiles at a distance of about 1000-1500 kilometers, and four more "Zircon" missiles are planned launch from the nuclear-powered missile cruiser Severodvinsk.

“In the fall, state tests will begin at Severodvinsk. In case of their success from both types of carriers, it is supposed to take Zircon into service in the first half of 2022 ", - says a source in the country's military-industrial complex.

Earlier it was reported that the first test launches from the submarine "Severodvinsk" will be made in June, however, until this moment, it is assumed that two missile launches will be performed from the board of the Russian frigate.

Previously, it was assumed that the Zircon hypersonic missile would enter service with the Russian army only in 2023, however, apparently, the tests of this ammunition were quite successful, which made it possible to shorten the project implementation time.
