On April 23, 2025, a missile hazard was declared throughout the Belgorod Region. The RSChS warning system sent out an emergency message to residents of the region: “Attention! Throughout the Belgorod Region. Missile hazard. Go down to the basement or underground space.” Governor Vyacheslav Gladkov called on the population in his Telegram channel to remain calm, take shelter in safe places and stay there until the “All clear missile hazard” signal.
No details have been released, but in recent days Ukraine has stepped up attacks on the territory of the Belgorod region, as reported by the region's governor.
Missile attacks on the Belgorod region have become regular since the beginning of 2025. According to RIA Novosti, the region was subjected to 150 attacks in March, and the intensity of the strikes increased in April: on April 18 alone, the Ukrainian Armed Forces fired 199 munitions and used 112 drones, 42 of which were shot down.
