Missile strike carried out on Krivoy Rog

On January 17, 2025, Russian troops launched a missile attack on Krivoy Rog. According to the head of the Dnipropetrovsk regional military administration, Serhiy Lysak, the attack damaged an educational institution and residential buildings. Three people were killed and several were wounded.

Ukrainian monitoring groups recorded the launch of two Iskander-M ballistic missiles at the city. According to the SHOT publication, the target of the strike was the Krivoy Rog Professional College of the National Aviation University, where flight personnel for the Armed Forces of Ukraine were trained. As a result of the attack, the roof of the building was partially destroyed, a wall collapsed, and barracks were damaged. Precise data on losses has not yet been reported.

Kryvyi Rih College of the National Aviation University is the only professional educational institution of technical direction in the Dnipropetrovsk region and one of the few in Ukraine that trains junior bachelors and bachelors in cross-cutting programs. The college has concluded agreements with the National Aviation University and the Kharkiv National University of Radio Electronics on continuing the education of graduates to obtain a master's degree.

Earlier, in December 2024, Russian troops already launched attacks on Krivoy Rog.

Ukrainian air defense forces attempted to intercept the missiles, but were unsuccessful. Local authorities are calling on residents to remain calm and follow security instructions.
