An American drone that crashed in the Black Sea approached the Russian borders at a distance of 120 kilometers

The United States announced the details of the crash of the MQ-9 Reaper attack drone near the Russian borders.

The U.S. MQ-9 Reaper tactical attack drone was conducting reconnaissance close to Russian borders, according to a US Department of Defense official. The drone flew along a standard route approaching the borders of Russian airspace at a distance of approximately 120 kilometers. The drone itself fell southwest of Crimea at the very beginning of the ongoing reconnaissance mission.

The United States continues to blame Russia for the incident. However, the Russian side reports that the culprit of the incident is the drone operator, who, probably, noticing the approach of Russian fighters, made a sharp maneuver. This led to the loss of control over the drone and the latter fell from a great height into the water.

It is known that at the moment the United States is working on decoding data from the drone in order to obtain the latest information from its systems and determine the real details of the incident.
