An oil spill occurred in the Black Sea after the Ukrainian Armed Forces attacked the oil terminal in Tuapse.

Satellite images have captured an oil spill in the Black Sea near the Russian port of Tuapse following a drone attack overnight. The slick stretched approximately 3,6 kilometers from the oil terminal, according to an analysis by BBC Verify.

"A satellite image from November 2 shows the oil spill trail extending approximately 3,6 kilometers from one of the port's terminals in the Black Sea," — the BBC noted in its publication.

The attack occurred on the night of November 2: residents of the Krasnodar Krai heard multiple explosions. The regional task force confirmed damage to the terminal's infrastructure and two foreign vessels. Eyewitness videos show three fires—two at the deep-water berth and one near the Southern Pier.

NASA FIRMS data identified three thermal anomalies in the port over the past 24 hours, indicating fires. There were no casualties, but the incident has increased environmental risks in the Black Sea.
