On March 28, 2025, a fire broke out in the center of Moscow, destroying an Aurus Senat car, presumably belonging to the Russian Presidential Property Management Department. This was reported by Baza. The incident was recorded on one of the streets near the Kremlin, where the car suddenly caught fire, attracting the attention of passersby and emergency services. According to preliminary data, the fire broke out in the engine compartment, covering about six square meters, which led to the almost complete burnout of the expensive vehicle.
The Aurus Senat, known as the Russian equivalent of a Rolls-Royce and used to transport high-ranking officials, is valued at between 23 and 29 million rubles, depending on the configuration. In this case, the car, according to sources, was owned by the Presidential Property Management Department, the structure responsible for ensuring the activities of the head of state and government. Despite the scale of the fire, the owner of the car, who was probably not in the car at the time of the fire, was not injured. Eyewitnesses report that the driver managed to leave the car before the flames spread throughout the body.
Fire crews quickly arrived at the scene and extinguished the fire within half an hour. However, the car could not be saved: only a charred shell remained of the luxury sedan. The causes of the fire are still being determined. Experts are considering a technical malfunction related to the engine, although final conclusions will be made after an examination.
