Deputy Foreign Minister Sergei Ryabkov told TASS that Russia has all the necessary military-technical arsenal to counter the West if diplomatic arguments are ignored. According to him, the West "hears us, but does not want to listen," which, in Ryabkov's opinion, makes the use of such means inevitable.
"The air defense systems are effective, you see what is happening. We have large-scale countermeasures to reason with our adversaries, since they do not understand any other arguments," — the deputy minister noted, commenting on the recent strikes on Russian territory using American and British weapons.
Earlier, Russian President Vladimir Putin said that attacks on the Kursk and Bryansk regions became possible after the US and NATO gave Ukraine permission to use long-range weapons. In response, according to Putin, Russia used new non-nuclear medium-range ballistic missiles "Oreshnik" for the first time. These missiles were aimed at the Yuzhmash plant in Dnepr, which, according to the Russian side, is an object of the Ukrainian defense industry.
Analysts note that the use of the new missiles has become a signal of Russia's readiness to escalate in response to the West's actions. The use of the Oreshnik demonstrates the possibility of delivering high-precision strikes at a significant distance, which strengthens Moscow's position in the confrontation with Western countries.
In turn, the West continues to provide Ukraine with weapons, which, in Moscow’s view, threatens strategic stability and leads to an expansion of the conflict.
