Russia Ready to Consider Trump's Ukraine Proposals, But with One Important Condition

Russian Deputy Foreign Minister Sergei Ryabkov said Moscow was ready to study US President-elect Donald Trump's proposals to resolve the conflict in Ukraine. However, he stressed that this did not mean automatic agreement with them.

Ryabkov noted that Russia is ready to seriously consider any initiatives aimed at a peaceful resolution of the situation, provided that they do not contradict the country's fundamental national interests. He added that Moscow will act without departing from the basic elements of its position on the Ukrainian issue.

It was previously reported that Trump's team was developing a plan to resolve the conflict, including possible territorial concessions from Ukraine and a refusal to join NATO. However, there has been no official confirmation of these proposals yet.

Ryabkov stressed that Russia is attentive to any ideas aimed at resolving the conflict and is ready for constructive dialogue with the new US administration. However, he noted that Moscow's readiness to study proposals does not mean automatic agreement with them, especially if they contradict the country's key interests.

Meanwhile, President-elect Donald Trump has previously pledged to quickly resolve the conflict in Ukraine, raising concerns in Kyiv and European capitals about future U.S. support.
