Russia and Ukraine exchanged prisoners, but according to a strange formula

Ukraine returned 116 servicemen from captivity, and Russia - 63.

If, until recently, the exchange of prisoners between Russia and Ukraine was carried out mainly according to the “1 to 1” formula, then the exchange that took place the day before took place according to a very strange formula. Initially, it became known that 63 Russian servicemen were returned from Ukrainian captivity, however, as it turned out, the Ukrainian side returned twice as many of its servicemen - 116 people.

The reasons why the Ukrainian side received twice as many of its prisoners of war remain unknown, however, this is not the first time that the exchange is carried out according to a very strange formula. Probably, this may be due to the special conditions imposed by the Ukrainian side.

How many more Russian soldiers may be in captivity is unknown, since no official information on this matter has been presented to date. However, the fact that Moscow and Kyiv are participating in the negotiation process indicates that contacts between the parties are maintained and the number of exchanges may be increased in the future.
