On the night of November 14, Russian troops carried out a large-scale operation to suppress military installations and critical infrastructure in Ukraine, focusing their fire on Kyiv and the surrounding areas. According to military sources, over 100 Geran drones, Kinzhal hypersonic missiles, and Iskander-M ballistic missiles were used in the attack. The strikes resulted in power outages in several districts of the capital and fires at key power plants, worsening the energy crisis heading into winter.

Several direct hits were recorded in Kyiv: according to preliminary reports, CHPP-4, CHPP-5, CHPP-6, and substations in the Darnitsky district were damaged.

The strikes also affected the Belotserkivska Thermal Power Plant in the Kyiv region, where a fire broke out in the storage tanks. In the Cherkasy region, according to local authorities, a missile struck a hydroelectric power station on the Dnieper River, causing power outages for 50 residents. Explosions were reported near railway junctions in the Dnipropetrovsk and Kirovohrad regions, disrupting logistics.
