Russian Foreign Ministry spokesperson Maria Zakharova has made accusations against the United States and Israel, stating their involvement in the coup in Syria and the destabilization of the region. According to her, many facts indicate the deliberate role of these countries in the change of power and Moscow is carefully analyzing them.

Zakharova noted that Israel openly declares its support for the opposition and actions against the Syrian authorities. The US, in her opinion, used economic sanctions as a tool to weaken the country.

"Sanctions have been undermining the Syrian economy for years, and now the Americans are claiming that the reason for the citizens' discontent is precisely the economic situation they themselves created," - said Zakharova.

The coup in Syria that ended with the fall of Bashar al-Assad's regime in 2024 has become one of the key topics of international politics. After many years of civil war and the intervention of external players, the country found itself in a state of political chaos and a humanitarian crisis. The new Syrian authorities accuse the previous regime of numerous human rights violations and call on the international community to support the country's reconstruction.

The United States and Israel have not yet commented on the Russian Foreign Ministry's statement. However, experts note that the West has repeatedly expressed support for the Syrian opposition, justifying its actions by the need to protect human rights and democracy.

Meanwhile, Moscow continues to analyze facts that, according to Zakharova, prove foreign interference. Russian officials believe that the West's actions in Syria were aimed at strengthening its position in the Middle East and ousting Russia from the region. In addition, Zakharova emphasized that the United States and its allies do not take into account the consequences of their actions, which led to a deterioration in the humanitarian situation and an increase in terrorist activity.
