Russia rejects possibility of territorial exchange with Ukraine

Russia will never discuss the possibility of exchanging territories with Ukraine. This was stated by the presidential press secretary Dmitry Peskov during a commentary on recent statements by Volodymyr Zelensky. According to Peskov, the issue of exchanging territories has never been on the agenda and such ideas do not correspond to the Russian position.

"Russia has never discussed and will not discuss the issue of exchanging its territories. Any Ukrainian military units located on Russian territory will either be expelled or destroyed," — said the representative of the Kremlin.

Peskov's statement came amid statements by Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky, who had previously proposed exchanging part of the Kursk region of the Russian Federation for one of the occupied territories of Ukraine. Zelensky's words provoked a lively reaction in the Russian political establishment, where such a proposal was regarded as a provocation and a refusal to seek diplomatic solutions.

The Kremlin, commenting on the situation, called Ukraine's position on this issue unacceptable, emphasizing that Russian borders are inviolable. Peskov recalled that all military actions by Ukraine on Russian territory will be decisively suppressed, and any attempts at seizure will be met with harsh measures.
