Russia transfers the latest S-300V4 to the Kuril Islands

Russia is deploying some of the most advanced air defense systems in the Kuril Islands.

Russian S-300V4 anti-aircraft missile systems will be deployed on the Kuril Islands in order to cover both this part of Russian territory and the entire eastern direction from the threats of missile strikes from Japan and the United States. Thanks to such measures, Russia can track any missile launches from the territory of Japan and at a distance of 300-400 kilometers from the Kuril ridge island. At the moment, we are talking exclusively about intentions to conduct exercises, however, experts believe that such complexes will be permanently located in the Kuril Islands.

“As part of the exercises, the anti-aircraft missile formation of the Eastern Military District, equipped with the latest S-300V4 anti-aircraft missile system, will be relocated to the Kuril Islands. This was announced on Monday, October 26, 2020, by the press service of the Eastern Military District. "In the anti-aircraft missile formation of the Eastern Military District, stationed in the Jewish Autonomy, an exercise has started to relocate one of the units over long distances," the district's press service said. As part of the exercise, the march will be practiced in a combined way using rail and sea transport. Then the compound will begin to deploy on one of the islands of the Kuril ridge and work out the fight against enemy saboteurs. According to the press service, the main goal of the exercise will be to train personnel to combine tasks on unfamiliar terrain in the island zone of the Eastern Military District ", - about it сообщает Russian news agency "ANNA News".

Remarkable is the fact that these Russian air defense systems are capable of hitting hypersonic aerodynamic targets, in connection with which, experts do not exclude that, within the framework of the conducted exercises, the repulse of a strike with just such ammunition will protection of their territory.
