Russia receives two new Su-57 fighter jets

Two more Su-57 fighters appeared in service with the Russian Aerospace Forces.

Deputy Minister of Defense of the Russian Federation Alexei Krivoruchko announced that at the end of 2021, two fifth-generation Su-57 fighters were transferred to the arsenal of the Russian Aerospace Forces. Thus, today the Russian Aerospace Forces are already armed with three fifth-generation combat aircraft, although it was originally assumed that in 2021 the Russian Aerospace Forces would receive at least four fifth-generation Su-57 fighters. This confirms the information that there were some problems with the production of these combat aircraft.

“As Deputy Minister of Defense of the Russian Federation Alexei Krivoruchko said in his report at the National Defense Control Center of the Russian Federation on January 20, 2022, in the fourth quarter of 2021, in the interests of the Russian Aerospace Forces, 17 new aircraft, including two fifth-generation Su-57 fighters. The mention of two Su-57s handed over to the Aerospace Forces was removed from the text of the report by Alexei Krivoruchko on the official website of the Ministry of Defense of the Russian Federation, but was confirmed by a message outlining the report., - reports "BMPD".

What exactly became a problem in the mass production of Su-57 fighters is not specified, however, a little earlier there was information that the enterprise did not have enough capacity to start large-scale mass production of Russian combat aircraft.

According to official data, at least 12 fifth-generation Su-57 fighters should be put into service with the Russian Aerospace Forces this year, however, this raised some doubts, especially against the background of the fact that plans for the supply of combat aircraft were disrupted in 2021.
