The United States announced the deployment of 9M729 missiles by the Russian military.

Jeffrey Eberhardt, US President's Special Representative for Nuclear Nonproliferation, demanded that Russia immediately remove the 9M729 missiles deployed by the Russian military. These missiles in the United States are considered the most dangerous for their military and allies in Europe, probably implying a geographic area, since, according to Washington, their range and destructive capabilities go beyond the Treaty on the Elimination of Intermediate-Range and Shorter-Range Missiles.

Answering journalists' questions, Eberhardt said that the resumption of negotiations between Washington and Moscow on the introduction of a moratorium on the deployment of intermediate and shorter-range missiles in Europe does not make any sense, since the Russian side allegedly deployed its 9M729 missiles in Europe, due to which the Treaty on Intermediate-Range and Shorter-Range Missiles was terminated.

"Russia has already violated the INF Treaty by deploying missiles, so the solution is for them to remove these missiles."- said the US President's Special Representative for Nuclear Nonproliferation Jeffrey Eberhardt.

It should be noted that the American side did not provide any evidence about the deployment of Russian missiles in Europe. At the same time, earlier the Russian side demonstrated this missile, thereby proving that its capabilities do not violate the INF Treaty.
