Over the past day in Russia, 119 deaths were recorded among citizens whose coronavirus had previously been confirmed. As it turned out, this indicator is higher than in the vast majority of countries, and today Russia is already in 7th place in daily mortality from coronavirus.

According to the published data, to date, in terms of daily mortality, Russia is second only to the United States (+1218), Brazil (+816), the UK (+468), Mexico (+290), Italy (+153) and Peru (+131 ) In terms of the overall mortality rate, Russia is in the top 20 countries of the world, which indicates an unfavorable situation against the backdrop of the COVID-19 pandemic.

As follows from the data of the operational headquarters on the situation with coronavirus in Russia, on the morning of May 17, 2020, 9709 new cases of coronavirus and 94 deaths were recorded in the territory of the Russian Federation.

“Over the past day in Russia 9709 new cases of coronavirus were detected in 85 regions. Of these, 42,4% did not have clinical manifestations of the disease. There were 94 deaths. In a day in Russia 4207 people fully recovered. In total, today in Russia 281 752 cases of coronavirus have been detected in 85 regions. Over the entire period, 2631 deaths were recorded, 67 people recovered ”, - said in a statement.
