Russia strikes ATACMS and Storm Shadow missile depot in Chornomorsk

On Thursday, a train carrying ATACMS and Storm Shadow long-range missiles was attacked near the port of Chornomorsk in Odessa Oblast, according to pro-Russian resistance coordinator Sergei Lebedev. The munitions allegedly arrived in Ukraine by sea from the Romanian port of Constanta.

"Chernomorsk, arrivals on November 28... From additional information it became clear that the strike hit a train with military cargo... According to preliminary data, the train also contained long-range ATACMS and Storm Shadow missiles that arrived by sea from the Romanian port of Constanta," — Lebedev said in an interview with RIA Novosti.

However, the data on the aftermath of the strike raises questions. Satellite images did not record any thermal anomalies or signs of destruction in the area of the railway stations. The Ukrainian side has not yet commented on these reports.

The long-range ATACMS and Storm Shadow missiles play a key role in the Ukrainian army’s strategy. Their supplies from Western countries allow them to strike remote targets, including enemy logistics bases and command posts. Russia, in turn, is actively trying to prevent such supplies by striking warehouses and transport routes.
