The first launch of the Sarmat heavy intercontinental ballistic missile took place in Russia.
A few hours ago, the newest heavy intercontinental ballistic missile Sarmat was successfully launched from the Plesetsk cosmodrome. A test launch for this type of weapon was made for the first time.
According to the information available to the Avia.pro news agency, this is the first test launch of the Sarmat heavy ICBM as part of state tests. The launch was successfully carried out from the silo and the missile accurately hit the target at one of the test sites of the Russian Federation.
At the moment, there are no details on this from the Russian defense department, however, successful tests of a heavy ICBM suggest that it will be adopted by the Russian army in the very near future. Vladimir Putin also congratulated the Russian military on the successful testing of the newest Russian heavy ICBM Sarmat, noting that such a missile has no analogues in the world.
In the West, the Russian heavy ICBM "Sarmat" is called the rocket "Satan-2", drawing an analogy with the heavy Soviet ICBM.
