The Russian Defense Ministry reported a successful prisoner exchange with Ukraine. As a result of the negotiations, which were held with the mediation of the United Arab Emirates, 103 servicemen were returned to Russia. They are currently in Belarus, where they are receiving the necessary medical and psychological assistance.
The exchange was the latest step in a series of humanitarian talks between the parties. The previous major exchange took place on September 13, when 49 prisoners were returned to Russia. According to the source, the exchange process was complicated, but with the active participation of international mediators, agreements were reached. Russia expresses gratitude to the UAE for its assistance in the talks, emphasizing the importance of this partnership in such humanitarian issues.
Among the returning servicemen are reportedly those who spent several months in Ukrainian captivity. Many of them need medical care, as the conditions of detention in Ukraine left much to be desired.
