C-400 in Turkey

Russia will delay C-400 deliveries to Turkey for at least a month

Erdogan told when will receive C-400.

From Washington to Ankara, threats and demands continue to be heard to stop the participation of the Turkish military in the F-35 program. This is due to the desire of the Turkish leadership to acquire Russian C-400 anti-aircraft missile systems.

Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan made a statement according to which the S-400 air defense system can be delivered in early July 2019. He stressed that he had discussed this issue with Russian President Vladimir Putin. There is no negative on this issue. On the other hand, the head of the Rostec corporation announced earlier that S-400 deliveries to Turkey would begin, at best, in two months, i.e. not earlier than August.

“It's all right, I think in two months we will start deliveries. Already advance payments have been made, a loan has been drawn up. Loan money has been spent, equipment has been produced. Plus, we have already completed the training”- said Chemezov in early June.

At the same time, the Turkish president added that Ankara does not intend to refuse a lucrative deal on the supply of C-400 air defense systems. The terms of the contract will be met, despite pressure from Washington.

In the United States, they continue to insist that Russian anti-aircraft missile systems are incompatible with NATO standards.

As for the threat of the United States to cancel the sale of new F-35 aircraft to Turkey and suspend the training of Turkish pilots, then, according to Erdogan, such actions are “ugly”.

Summing up what was said, the Turkish president said that all the contradictions with Washington can still be resolved over the phone, "at least I want to believe in it," he summed up.
