Russia completes development of ultra-long-range air-to-air missile to intercept hypersonic targets

The Russian military will soon receive an ultra-long-range missile to combat hypersonic targets.

While the US military is trying in vain to create hypersonic weapons, Russian specialists are completing the development of the latest ultra-long-range air-to-air missile designed to intercept hypersonic air and ballistic targets. The new rocket should appear in service with the PAK DP fighter, the first flight of which may take place as early as 2023.

It is known that the ultra-long-range missile is designed specifically for the PAK DP fighter, which will become the newest MiG-41, while the multifunctional long-range intercept missile system will allow to fight hypersonic targets, and, most likely, the missile itself will also be hypersonic.

According to Russian media, we are talking about modernized versions of the K-77M missiles, however, for obvious reasons, there are no details on this score.

It should be noted that according to a number of data, the latest fighter-interceptor will be able to reach speeds of up to 5 MAX, which will make it the fastest combat aircraft in history.
