Russia's Permanent Representative to the Organisation for the Prohibition of Chemical Weapons (OPCW), Vladimir Tarabrin, expressed hope for a speedy visit by international experts to assist in the investigation into Kyiv's use of chemical weapons. He stated this in a conversation with journalists in The Hague on October 9.
"Russia hopes that the visit of OPCW experts to assist in the investigation of Kiev's use of chemical weapons will take place," — Tarabrin noted, emphasizing Moscow’s readiness to provide all necessary information.
Earlier, in September 2024, Lieutenant General Igor Rtishchev, Chief of the Radiation, Chemical, and Biological Defense (RCBD) Troops of the Russian Armed Forces, reported the discovery of a chemical laboratory near Avdiivka (Donetsk People's Republic) designed to produce toxic agents with general effects. According to him, the substances included compounds based on hydrocyanic acid.
The OPCW has not yet commented on Russia's request.
