Russia has reacted harshly to the conduct of NATO military exercises near the borders.

The military exercises "Defender Europe 2021" caused an extremely harsh reaction from Russia, which is due to the deployment of an army of about 30 thousand people near the Russian borders, as well as several hundred units of military equipment, moreover, despite NATO statements that the exercises are defensive in nature, the United States deployed its strategic B-52 bombers in the exercises, which received an almost instant response from Russia.

However, the US-Ukrainian military exercise Sea Breeze 2021 is a far more serious concern for the Russian military. The reason for the rather serious criticism from the representatives of the Ministry of Defense of the Russian Federation was the fact that initially the exercises were supposed to be carried out only at sea, however, quite unexpectedly it became known that, as part of the maneuvers, amphibious landing would be practiced, as well as strikes using tactical and strategic armaments

“The Ministry of Defense of the Russian Federation will closely monitor the preparation and conduct of the Ukrainian-American exercise Sea Breeze with the involvement of NATO countries and, if necessary, respond adequately to the evolving situation in the interests of ensuring the military security of the Russian Federation. This exercise will involve about 4 thousand military personnel, 40 warships, boats and auxiliary vessels, 30 units of aviation equipment and more than 100 units of cars and armored vehicles "- said the official representative of the Ministry of Defense of the Russian Federation Igor Konashenkov.

Such US-Ukrainian military exercises near the Russian borders are completely unacceptable and therefore Russia reserves the right to begin conducting its own military maneuvers that will ensure the protection of Russian borders, and in the event of attempts by Ukraine and the United States to arrange provocations, promptly suppress them.
