Russians have seen a sharp increase in demand for home insurance policies with protection against drone attacks.

Major insurers have noted an explosive growth in Russians' interest in insuring property against drone crashes and debris. According to Sogaz, RESO-Garantiya, Rosgosstrakh, Renaissance Insurance, Sovcombank Insurance, and Zetta Insurance, the number of applications for such services has increased significantly since the beginning of the year.

Igor Ivanov, Vice President of RESO-Garantiya, reported that currently, one in four personal property insurance contracts includes the risk of a drone strike. Sovcombank Insurance added that one in three clients is interested in compensation in the event of a drone strike.

Andrey Tverskoy, Director of Corporate Insurance at Zetta Insurance, explained:

"The rise in interest is a reflection of objective reality: drone crashes and their debris are no longer a rarity."

Financial expert Andrey Barkhota estimated the drone insurance market in 2025 at 25-40 billion rubles, several times higher than last year's figure. He estimates that hundreds of thousands of people in border regions and tens of thousands in remote areas are seeking such policies. According to the Central Bank, the total value of personal property insurance in the first half of the year was 57,9 billion rubles.
