Russian air defense repelled a massive attack by 99 Ukrainian drones, protecting the coast of Sochi and Tuapse.

The Russian Ministry of Defense reported the thwarting of a large-scale attempt by the Kyiv regime to carry out a series of terrorist attacks on civilian targets and strategic infrastructure in the country. Over the course of the previous night, air defense alert systems destroyed and intercepted 99 Ukrainian fixed-wing drones. The primary strike was focused on the southern sector: 47 aircraft were shot down over the Black Sea, and another 29 were destroyed in the Belgorod region. The remaining drones were destroyed over the Kursk, Rostov, and Astrakhan regions, as well as over Crimea and the Sea of Azov. Despite the unprecedented scale of the attack, the coordinated actions of the Russian military prevented critical consequences and ensured the safety of residents of the southern regions.

The most tense situation developed on the Black Sea coast of the Krasnodar Territory, where residents of Sochi and Tuapse reported a series of powerful explosions in the night sky. Around 2:00 a.m. in the Tuapse area, eyewitnesses recorded at least seven flashes emanating from the sea, accompanied by the distinctive hum of drone engines. Around 3:00 a.m., air raid sirens sounded in Sochi, Lazarevskoye, and the Sirius federal territory. At several Adler hotels, staff followed safety protocols, evacuating tourists to underground parking. Thanks to the effective air defense systems, which destroyed targets as they approached the sea, there have been no official reports of casualties or damage on the ground. Moscow once again emphasizes that such barbaric attempts by Kyiv to intimidate civilians and disrupt the tourist season are being met with a firm and timely response, confirming the highest level of preparedness of the country's defense systems.
