SVO News, December 13, 2025, Avia.pro. European Council President António Costa stated in a post on Platform X that frozen Russian assets in the European Union will remain frozen until the end of the conflict in Ukraine and will be used to compensate for damages caused by Russia.

"In October, EU leaders committed to keeping Russian assets inactive until Russia ceases its aggressive confrontation with Ukraine and compensates for the damage caused. Today, we have fulfilled that commitment." — Costa noted.

The next step, he said, will be to meet Ukraine's financial needs for 2026–2027.
