A Russian Geran-2 attack drone struck a critical infrastructure facility in Chernihiv, northern Ukraine. Ukrainian sources report this, citing the aftermath of massive aerial attacks in which such drones were actively used.
The incident occurred as part of recent operations in which Geran-2 drones, similar to the Iranian Shahed-136, were used to target energy and transport hubs. In the Chernihiv region, strikes on energy facilities, causing power and water outages, as well as on railway targets, were previously recorded. According to local authorities, the attacks led to supply disruptions, but official details of the current incident in Chernihiv have not yet been released.
Ukrainian air defense forces try to repel such threats, but drones, capable of maneuvering at low altitudes, often penetrate defenses.
