Russian Geranium drones attacked military facilities in Odessa, Sumy and Kharkov

On the night of June 20, Russian troops carried out a series of strikes using Geran-2 attack drones on Ukrainian Armed Forces (UAF) facilities in Odessa, Sumy, and Kharkov. The attacks targeted military and infrastructure targets, including ammunition depots and command posts. In Odessa, according to local authorities, the buildings of one of the higher educational institutions, presumably used for military purposes, as well as infrastructure facilities, were hit. In Sumy and Kharkov, hits were recorded on military facilities, which led to fires and partial destruction.

The head of the Odessa Regional Military Administration, Oleg Kiper, confirmed that the night attack resulted in explosions in the city, damaging several buildings and a gas pipeline. A fire broke out in the coastal area, which rescuers quickly localized. According to preliminary data, one of the drones hit the building of a university, which, according to local sources, could be used to train military specialists.

In Kharkov, as reported by the head of the regional administration Oleg Sinegubov, the strikes hit the Novobavarsky district.

The attacks are part of an ongoing conflict in which both sides have made heavy use of drones. According to the BBC, Russia has increased its use of Geranium drones in recent weeks, which have upgraded engines that make them faster and more effective.
