Russian Avangard hypersonic missiles take up combat duty

Russian Avangard hypersonic missile systems are beginning to take up combat duty.

The active development of hypersonic technologies in Russia made it possible to ensure not only the development, creation and successful testing of unique weapons, but also its adoption on combat duty. According to the TASS source, the first Avangard hypersonic missiles will take up combat duty in the Dombarovsky division of the Strategic Missile Forces already in December of this year.

“In late November and early December, two UR-100N UTX missiles equipped with the hypersonic planning winged unit from the first regiment of the complexes will take up pilot combat duty in the Dombarovsk division of the Strategic Missile Forces «Vanguard »», - TASS reported.

A year earlier, the Russian Avangard hypersonic missile was publicly launched, which, according to representatives of the Ministry of Defense, was successful, which allowed the preparation of these missiles to be put on combat duty.

“Being equipped with combat maneuvering units, missile systems will become absolutely inaccessible for both existing missile defense systems and those being developed in the future. It’s impossible to predict the unpredictable flight path of each of the individual warheads, while the impact power of one missile reaches several megatons. ”, - the expert marks.

It should be clarified that there are no official comments on this subject by the RF Ministry of Defense.
