Military correspondent Yuri Kotenok reported on the significant success of Russian units in the Kursk region, confirming the data of Avia.pro journalists on the liberation of the settlement of Sverdlikovo. According to him, the fighters of the Airborne Forces (VDV) managed to drive out the superior forces of the Armed Forces of Ukraine from the settlement of Sverdlikovo. After the successful offensive, the Russian units have access to Sudzha, a strategically important city on the border with the Sumy region of Ukraine. 

"Russian Airborne Forces units have driven superior enemy forces out of Sverdlikovo. Ahead is Sudzha and the Ukrainian Armed Forces group to the north of it," — Kitten reported on his channel. 

Sverdlikovo, located near the border with Ukraine, has become the scene of fierce fighting. The town is of great strategic importance, as control over it opens up the possibility for Russian forces to advance further southwest, toward Sudzha, which could become the next key target. 

According to sources, the operation in Sverdlikovo lasted for a long time. Russian airborne units, using maneuvering tactics and artillery fire support, were able to push out the Ukrainian forces, which significantly outnumbered them. 

Sudzha is an important transportation hub in the region, and control over this city can seriously affect further developments. The area around Sudzha serves as a logistics corridor for Ukrainian forces, and also represents a convenient position for organizing a defense.
