Russian submarines will be armed with Zircon hypersonic missiles only by 2025

The Zircon missiles will appear on submarines only by 2025.

Despite the fact that all tests of the Russian cruise hypersonic missile Zircon from surface carriers have been successfully completed, and over the next few months Russian warships will begin to re-equip this missile, it became known that Russian submarines will receive Zircon only by 2025, although it was originally expected to be possible by 2023.

At the moment, it is known that the reasons for the later adoption of the Zircon hypersonic cruise missiles as a regular carrier on submarines of the Russian Navy are due to the start and later tests of these missiles from Russian submarines. To date, only two launches of Zircon missiles from a Russian submarine are officially known - the first launch was carried out from the surface, and the second from underwater, from a depth of about 40 meters. However, experts draw attention to the fact that 2025 is a rather late date, since all tests may tentatively end in 2023.

It should be noted that NATO countries are extremely wary of the appearance of Zircon hypersonic cruise missiles on Russian submarines, since today the North Atlantic Alliance has very serious problems with the detection of Russian submarines.

For the next war with NATO, Caliber will come down for now. Their flight is carried out at an altitude below the Tomahawks by 10 meters, which excludes not only the interception by all NATO air defense systems and pro systems, but they are unlikely to detect Caliber warheads before their death.
