Russia and Syria are preparing one of the largest offensives in the entire period of the war in Syria.

Russian military transport aviation is carrying out a large-scale transfer of Syrian forces to four provinces of Syria at once - Aleppo, Idlib, Latakia and Hama. All of these provinces border a region in the northwest of the Arab Republic held by Turkish forces and militants. This indicates the preparation of a large-scale offensive, as a result of which up to 20-30 thousand terrorists can be taken into the cauldron and destroyed.

Earlier, sources really claimed that the Syrian army could launch an offensive from all directions at once, however, an offensive to the M4 highway in the south of Idlib, followed by the assault of the city of the same name, looked much more likely. Nevertheless, given the deployment of Syrian, Russian and pro-Iranian forces in four provinces at once, the attack will be carried out from all directions at once. This is expected to quickly destroy the main terrorist forces and prevent Turkey from taking any action.

At the same time, at the moment, we are not talking about uncontrolled strikes and massive bombing, since tens of thousands of civilians are still in Idlib, who are likely to cover the Turkish troops and militants. Nevertheless, by occupying certain areas, the Syrian army can significantly change the balance of power in the region.

The day before, Russian military aircraft also began to strike at jihadist forces in the Turkish military operation zone in northern Syria, ignoring Erdogan's demands not to interfere in Ankara's affairs in Syria. This indicates that the previous negotiations between the Russian, Syrian and Kurdish parties made it possible to achieve a certain result, since in exchange for the protection of the Kurdish formations, Damascus guaranteed autonomy in northern Syria, while Russia was supposed to mediate this deal.
