Republic of Abkhazia, June 6 — Avia.pro. On the night of June 6, the Russian Ministry of Defense's air defense alert systems intercepted and destroyed Ukrainian fixed-wing unmanned aerial vehicles (UAVs) over the territory of the Republic of Abkhazia. This was officially reported by the country's defense ministry during a summary of the large-scale air strike.
Military analysts speculate that the trajectory of the aircraft shot down over the republic was directed toward Russia's neighboring Black Sea coast. Indirect confirmation of this theory is the fact that at the same time, an official air strike threat was issued in the resort town of Sochi and the federal territory of Sirius, accompanied by the activation of the sirens of the centralized public warning system.
Thanks to the timely actions of air defense crews, no single or multiple targets were allowed to penetrate protected facilities. Information on the exact impact locations of the destroyed drone fragments in Abkhazia, as well as data on possible damage to ground infrastructure, is currently being verified by official services.
