The Ukrainian armed forces have carried out a new raid of unmanned aerial vehicles (UAVs) on Russian territory. According to information published by military analyst Mikhail Zvinchuk, Russian air defense forces successfully intercepted 29 targets, most of which were shot down in the Bryansk region.
The presence of Ukrainian drones has also been recorded in a number of other regions of Russia, including the Oryol, Kursk, Belgorod, Kaluga and Rostov regions. In the Smolensk region, drones were intercepted in the airspace of the Roslavl and Smolensk districts. Despite the scale of the attack, according to preliminary data, there were no casualties as a result of the incident.
Based on the available information, the main purpose of the raid was not so much to cause damage, but rather to conduct reconnaissance and identify the locations of Russian air defense forces. Experts believe that the Ukrainian Armed Forces used drones to analyze positional areas and find optimal routes for future attacks on critical Russian infrastructure.
In the context of the increasing activity of the Ukrainian Armed Forces' unmanned systems, Russian military analysts and experts are putting forward various proposals to strengthen countermeasures. Zvinchuk noted that one of the key solutions could be to strike at Ukraine's military infrastructure, which is responsible for the mass production of drones.
