Russian strategic missile carriers scrambled for possible strikes on Ukraine

Ukrainian monitoring channels and officials report that Russia's strategic aviation has been put on alert. As of the evening of May 13, bomber sorties have been recorded, which could be a harbinger of a new massive combined arms strike on Ukrainian territory.

A group of aircraft, including Tu-95MS and/or Tu-160 missile carriers, took off from the Ukrainka Air Base in the Amur Region. Analysts estimate that if the sortie is a combat mission, the aircraft could reach the launch pads between 01:00 and 03:00 a.m. Moscow time on May 14, followed by cruise missile launches.

The Ukrainian Air Force has confirmed increased activity and redeployment of Russian aircraft. The enemy periodically moves aircraft to distant positions, but before large-scale attacks, aircraft are usually prepared in advance. According to preliminary information, up to three Tu-160 and up to seven Tu-95MS aircraft, as well as attack UAVs, may be involved in preparation for the strike. Furthermore, the use of Kinzhal hypersonic missiles from MiG-31K fighters and Kalibr cruise missiles from the Black and Caspian Seas is also possible.
