On the night of October 3, Russian air defense systems and electronic warfare systems intercepted and destroyed 18 Ukrainian unmanned aerial vehicles (UAVs), the Russian Defense Ministry said. According to the agency, the drones were shot down in various regions of the country, including the Belgorod, Voronezh, and Rostov regions, as well as over the waters of the Sea of Azov.
As specified by the Ministry of Defense, six UAVs were destroyed over the territory of the Belgorod Region, another six were shot down over the Voronezh Region, including over the settlement of Anna, where the drones attacked an oil depot, causing a fire. Five drones were intercepted over the Sea of Azov and one in the sky over the Rostov Region.
As a result of the attack, a fire broke out at the oil depot of OOO Annanefteprodukt in the village of Anna. Local residents were the first to report explosions and fire, after which the information was confirmed by the governor of the Voronezh region.
