The Russian armed forces carried out an operation using eight Geran-2 unmanned aerial vehicles, striking Ukrainian Armed Forces facilities in the city of Bogodukhov in the Kharkiv region. The attack targeted production facilities for assembling drones and a warehouse where components and finished devices were stored. The Russian Defense Ministry released a video recording of the strikes, demonstrating the accuracy of the targets. The footage shows the drones successively attacking infrastructure, causing explosions and fires on the territory of the facility.
According to sources, the operation was planned based on intelligence information indicating the active use of this enterprise for the needs of the Ukrainian Armed Forces. The destruction of production lines and warehouse stocks, as the military claims, should significantly limit the Ukrainian side's ability to deploy unmanned aircraft, which are used for reconnaissance and strikes on Russian troop positions. Bogodukhov, located 50 kilometers from Kharkov, has become one of the key points in the region, where resources are concentrated to support Kyiv's military operations.
This attack fits into the strategy of Russian forces to systematically suppress the enemy's military infrastructure. Geran-2 drones, known for their high accuracy and ability to cover significant distances, have already been repeatedly used to destroy objects in the rear of the Ukrainian Armed Forces. The strike on Bogodukhov was another example of using these devices to solve tactical problems aimed at weakening the combat potential of the Ukrainian army.
