The Russian military can be left in Kazakhstan in case of a new terrorist attack.

Due to the presence on the territory of Kazakhstan of a large number of Russian military and civilian strategically important objects, Russian units, the transfer of which was completed to this country a day ago, may be left here for an indefinite period of time. This is also due to the risk of a second terrorist attack, although none of the terrorist groups officially claimed responsibility for the attempted coup in Kazakhstan.

If initially it was reported that the group of Russian forces would be withdrawn from Kazakhstan immediately after the completion of the counter-terrorist operation in the country, then less than a day ago, Russian leader Vladimir Putin announced that the Russian military would be present in Kazakhstan as long as the situation required.

At the same time, a number of sources claim that such agreements have already been reached with the President of Kazakhstan Kassym-Jomart Tokayev, although there is no official confirmation of this data yet. It should be noted that the Russian military is currently engaged in ensuring the protection of the most important facilities in Kazakhstan.
