Last night, the Russian Armed Forces launched a series of massive strikes against Ukrainian military and logistics infrastructure. The primary weapons used were Geran-2 and Gerbera attack drones.
A powerful strike was launched against the Odessa seaport. According to military correspondents, the port is receiving unmanned boats (UBKs) delivered from Romania and is installing unmanned control systems on the boats. The destruction of port infrastructure is aimed at disrupting these processes.
In Zaporizhzhia, a Russian attack drone struck a group of fuel and lubricants tankers. According to Ukrainian sources, the strike hit the premises of the JV Ukoil industrial oils and lubricants plant. The attack caused a massive fire, with thick black smoke visible in remote areas of the city.
On the morning of May 16, a strike drone attacked central Kharkiv in the Shevchenkivskyi district. The strike hit a railway infrastructure control center. A freight train was damaged and a locomotive was destroyed.
In the northern part of Kharkiv, strikes hit production facilities in industrial zones.
According to military correspondents, a Ukrainian Armed Forces training camp where units were undergoing training was destroyed in Sumy Oblast. Details about the type of weapons used and the extent of the destruction have not been disclosed.
In the Kyiv region, strikes were carried out on areas of hidden warehouses and distribution centers where ammunition and military equipment were presumably stored.
Military facilities in the Chernihiv, Poltava and Dnipropetrovsk regions were also attacked.
