Russian troops strike Kyiv, Odessa and Boryspil

On the night of June 10, 2025, Russian armed forces carried out a series of strikes on strategic targets in seven districts of Kyiv, as well as in Odessa and Boryspil, in response to Ukrainian drone attacks on Russian regions. According to Ukrainian sources, Russia used Geran drones and cruise missiles aimed at military and infrastructure facilities. Details about specific targets have not yet been disclosed.

The strikes were likely a response to “terrorist acts” by Ukraine, including massive drone raids on Russian regions. On the night of June 9-10, Russian air defense forces destroyed 102 Ukrainian drones over 11 regions, including Bryansk, Belgorod, and Moscow. According to Reuters, Moscow views these attacks as an attempt by Kyiv to undermine military logistics and aims to neutralize facilities supporting the Ukrainian Armed Forces.

In Odessa, according to sources, the strikes hit port facilities and military installations, including the Shkolnyi airfield, which is used to service Ukrainian Armed Forces equipment. In Boryspil, where Ukraine's largest airport is located, explosions were also recorded, which presumably affected warehouses and logistics hubs.
