This indicates significant advances by Russian forces in key areas where fierce fighting had previously taken place. Ukrainian sources note that fog hindered aerial reconnaissance and allowed Russian troops to intensify their assault using vehicle columns.

The battle for the city, which began in mid-2024, has reached a critical point.
