In the South Donetsk direction, the Russian armed forces continue their offensive operations, concentrating their efforts on the Veliko-Novoselkovsky area. The "East" group of forces, having consolidated their success after liberating the villages of Dneproenergia and Skudnoe, broke through to the village of Vesyole, located at the junction of the borders of the Donetsk People's Republic, Zaporizhia and Dnipropetrovsk regions of Ukraine. As of the morning of March 27, 2025, fierce fighting is underway in Vesyole, as Russian assault units are trying to establish control over this strategically important settlement.

The breakthrough into Vesyole was a logical development after the successful capture of Dneproenergiya, which is located to the east of the village. The operation began with intensive attacks on the positions of the Armed Forces of Ukraine (AFU), which allowed Russian troops to overcome the defensive line and enter the village from the east. According to military sources, the assault on Vesyole is accompanied by intense firepower, and Russian forces are trying to consolidate key positions inside the village. Vesyole, located on a hill, is important as a stronghold, opening the way for further advancement deep into Ukrainian territory.

At the same time, the Ukrainian Armed Forces are attempting to regain lost ground. Reinforcements, including additional units and equipment, were quickly deployed to the Dneproenergiya area. Ukrainian troops have launched a counterattack, attempting to dislodge Russian forces from the recently liberated village. According to reports from the field, the fighting in Dneproenergiya is fierce, with artillery and drones being used by both sides. The Russian military, in turn, is strengthening its defensive lines to maintain control over this area and secure the rear for the offensive on Vesyole.
